Also the Chinese made sensor kit is not bad, the case (red/blue) with the clear window is quite heavy, I'm not sure what kind of metal it is, but it's built for heavy use. The sensors are probably the weak point, they look a bit flimsy but they work and are encased in a thin rubber shield (the blue part that surrounds them). The cords are pretty standard, I think 1/4"? They say 5/16, but standard can faucets will fit. I had to get a standard screw top faucet because the one provided mounts on top of the can, not screw top in. But California has these new can adapters so the can is resealable and can be used over and over again instead of, I guess, the old cans that vent to the atmosphere once you unbuckle the can.Anyway, so in California they need this one now little plastic adapter that screws onto the top of the can (Interdynamics sells one for a few bucks) and then you screw on a standard r134a that you plug in. Don't worry about that and the included faucet may still work for you. So first I just wanted to check the pressure on the low and high side So I closed two cl high/low pressure valve on the gauge On the other hand, I opened up (unscrewed the outlet) the two valves on the port side (meaning no gas leaks) and then connected them to the ports on the high and low pressure sides. Then slowly screw in the two side connector flaps to open the shredder flaps. I have good but somewhat low readings. So, with two isolated ports meaning the top valves are still closed I figured I could just close the valves and push them out as I see in the YouTube video. But I'm not sure if it's just this kit or do all kits work like this? But the pressure on the red line is so great that you cannot unplug it. Then you need to release the pressure and you don't want to just release it from the yellow side because you could accidentally introduce air and that's illegal. Well I decided to open the top red valve to put some pressure in the area where the glass gauge is and open the blue one a little while it's running to put it back in the system. I closed the port valve on the side of the shredder to stop the compressed liquid flowing back through the red line. Now I just pumped very slowly the r134a that was in the red line back to the blue side, barely opening and closing the blue valve on the top sensor side as I did this I noticed that this substance was flowing in the blue side into the little window and the connector started to loosen as if i could twist it now. A few more minutes and I had enough pressure and was then able to push it out. It is in order? Red is always high pressure and you need to inflate it? In all the YouTube videos I watch nobody does that, they just pop out of the connectors so I was initially wary of the connectors in this kit but I don't see any difference between these connectors and the ones I see the more expensive. Anyway as a standard AC sensor kit I give it 4 stars as yes they work and look better than some of the other kits that look cheaper and the case doesn't even sell. such metals. For most people you need (or want) a cheap R134 brass faucet (has a koizvak and works great), usually around $8 around here. For California residents, look for Interdynamics r134a tank adapters, which are just a blue plastic piece that screws onto a can and should cost around $2. Anyway, if I can test the pressure relief procedure on the high pressure side and it's not the kit's fault I'll give it a 5 star rating as it's a fairly complete kit and a solid body like the more expensive kits. Update: ok i just tried this gauge kit on another car, again the red valve on the high pressure side was sticking so much with the high pressure fluid in it, had to close the valve on the high pressure side port again and then slightly open the valve on the The red side gauge valve then popped the valve on the blue side gauge valve to allow the r134a to return to the blue side, and very slowly. I'm sure the only way you can damage the low pressure side is by letting the high pressure in, so I filled it in small increments by opening and closing the blue gauge valve and the pressure dropped. But what was interesting was that the pressure dropped to almost 0 and I still couldn't unplug the high side connector. Now I think that with the red side port valve closed that pressure easily escapes the Schrader valve on closing and still creates some pressure on the now closed red side, although it's not high pressure but still enough to hold the port . So I had to unscrew the connection valve on the red side a bit to depressurize the yellow line again, by then it was already 0. Then I could pull it out again, the procedure then becomes easier. multiple times. So don't worry if your high pressure side valve is sticking. Just remember to keep air out of your system and operate the valves accordingly. Just wondering how quick connect only kits work without human open and close valves. I mean you can slowly bleed yellow I guess for those people but that would make the process even more difficult. For the price I give the kit 5 stars now and then as the plugs do their job and give gas. Now I have two car air conditioners in their pressure range and I'm blowing cold air again. Oh, and as a bonus, you get a red screwdriver-like tool that removes Schrader valves if yours is leaking.
