Review on Wolo 430 Musical Horn Dixieland by Alfredo Testerman

Revainrating 2 out of 5

upset. Not recommended.

The compressor looked like it had been returned as the label had smeared the ink but otherwise looked fine. It's true that this kit doesn't come wired with a momentary switch, but I had no issues with it as it was a good excuse to get quality 12 gauge wire and a decent low profile switch instead of this cheap one. it is thus recommended. The compressor is working well at the moment (it was only installed one day) and I've gotten along fine with the small number of tubes supplied that were cut to the same length, but that's where this kit gets 2 stars. The compressor hits notes about twice as fast as it should, and while you can definitely hear Dixieland proving that the right notes are being triggered in the right order, it sounds like the two horns are out of tune. Try tweaking the horns themselves by shortening the pair, then see what I can do by lowering the voltage on the compressor to slow it down a bit. I'll probably break the cheap plastic horns in the process, but it doesn't look like it's actually going to work at the moment.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not bad
