not bad for the only option that I could find

I got this mouse, not so much because it looked like a good option, but because it was the only one that I could find that fit both of my criteria of fitting in the space between my full-width keyboard and the edge of my keyboard tray, and being wired. This allowed me to arrange my gear in a much more practical way and not waste any batteries. It's not a bad mouse in my experience. It took some getting used to because I had never had a trackball mouse before, but after learning the skill to it, it feels almost as natural as the mouse that I had before. It does have some issues though. As other reviewers have said, it doesn't have any easy way to get the ball out if you need to clean it. How it performs can depend on what you've had on your hands recently: if I've been using a lot of lotion, the movement gets sticky, and if I've been putting oil on my hands as a substitute for lotion, it seems to get much smoother. The scroll wheel has some roughness on one side, but not enough to get in the way. The worst problem is probably how the loose housing allows it to pop up and off of one of the detectors, sending it in the wrong direction or freezing it and making a series of clacking sounds. Some skill can get around this, but I still forget sometimes.I've actually been able to use this for some gaming. Minecraft can get strange sometimes because the ball is so small (even relative to the device itself) that I can't turn completely around without taking my fingers off to start the next roll, but it's just Minecraft anyway. Strangely, my full-3D Doom port seems less affected, and I've played all the way through FreeDoom with this despite some quirks.

Pros
  • Very eat to navigate and its comfortable does not cause discomfort in my wrist and fingers !!!
Cons
  • The wireless connection is unreliable and frequently drops
