Review on Shankly Oil Filter Wrench - Adjustable Universal Tool, ๐Ÿ”ง 2.75" to 3.75" Range, Durable and Handy Oil Filter Removal by Mark Howard

Was the last resort and it worked!

I have traditionally used a 65mm oil filter wrench to remove filters from my Acura. The last setup was at a shop that specializes in Honda/Acura and they installed the original Honda branded blue filter. Not sure if this is a recent change, but the 65mm key cups still fit snugly in these filters, but the 'teeth' don't quite mesh, which only causes the key cup to rotate. I don't have this problem installing a 65mm cap on Mobil 1, Fram or Purolator filters - the wrench snaps in easily and I can loosen or tighten the filter. I tried a few things - cup, strap, chain - before ordering a Shankly octopus key filter to remove the original Honda blue filter. The thing held up and did its job. The filter came off fairly easily. You can use it to tighten a new one, but I prefer to use a cup (Mobil 1 filter) for that.
