I have a smooth/glass top electric range and have used a square shallow pan and cast iron reversible grill pan for pancakes in the past. I read the reviews on America's Test Kitchen and they didn't rate this product too highly. They don't usually go wrong, and of course I haven't tried their nearly $200 "recommended" model, but for me, a busy mom of 2 hungry boys, this worked so much better than my 2 options I had used before! I cook my bacon in the oven, take it out a little undercooked and put it in the fridge. I reheated/cooked my bacon right away and had enough room to bake six pancakes. I then made 4 medium eggs using just a little bacon fat left over from reheating my bacon. It's really non-stick! After that I was able to make 8 bigger pancakes at once, no problem! It was easy to clean, put the 2 drawers in the dishwasher from the bottom, unplug and run under warm water from the sink with a little dish soap, just rub with your hands, air dry and you're done! I don't have enough space in my kitchen so put this on the fridge and you won't even see it there! Convenient storage! For $30 this is what you need to cook a lot at once and get your boys out the door in the morning!
