Good but the temp is way off

I bought this to melt encaustic paint not pancakes. Since temperature is extremely important to prevent the wax from smoking, I keep a thermometer on the surface. With 150 degrees on the dial, the temperature dropped to 300 and the wax started smoking. In fact, I was only able to keep the pan at 200 degrees by plugging it into the temperature controller set at 50%. I don't know if it makes a difference for cooking purposes, but this is the first pan I've gotten this far from a dial.

Drip notch narrows flat surface

Fat notch along long lip reduces cooking space. I mainly use the pan for baking pancakes and need to make smaller pancakes so the batter doesn't drip around the edges. Flipping pancakes has always been difficult, but now I have to be careful not to get too close to the indentation if I don't want them to run. This doesn't really work with pancakes. The drip tray and warming tray fall out when I set them on their side like I always did with the other pan. The size is no larger than any other…

The best I've found!

We've used this a few times and I like it for the most part. The rest of the reviews are correct. The fat separator is too small. So I took a warming tray which I think is useless and too small for him and took it to catch the fat. It works but deforms due to the thickness being too small for this purpose. I also pulled the traps out of the old ones to use. I like that everything is solid and the handles don't stick out. Easy to clean! My last one was terrible. The cord seems to reach my…

Heat Resistant

This grill is ideal for one-off events. However, if you cook several foods in a row, the grill will take a long time to recover. Example: The first batch of pancakes is great. If you add another batch right away they will undercook as the first batch has cooled the grill and will take 5-10 minutes to recover. This is probably due to the small thickness of the hob, which cannot retain heat for long. Tip: avoid this and opt for ceramics. Additional point of criticism: The non-stick surface does…

Watch your palette!

I received my frying pan in January and I use it often. Overall I'm very happy with it, but I think the temperature dial could have been better marked. It's hard to read and I don't think it represents the actual temperature. I set it lower than previous pans so nothing burns. Once you know you need to save, it heats up quickly and cooks fairly evenly! The drip tray and "warming tray" are a joke. They're both too small to be useful considering this is a family fry pan. A pound of bacon cooks…

Disappointment in kitchen and dining area

The drip tray is too small, even a small pack of bacon can't get through without spilling over the counter. The heater is also very small, it is enough for half a slice of bacon or sausages, almost everything else is not suitable. The numbers on the controller wear out VERY quickly, I keep mine in a drawer and it's only really touched when used after the pan has been used. the digits on the dial have been completely erased about 12 times, the controller also has no embossing or engraving, once…

I wasn't sure I needed "another " kitchen appliance. I have made!

I have a smooth/glass top electric range and have used a square shallow pan and cast iron reversible grill pan for pancakes in the past. I read the reviews on America's Test Kitchen and they didn't rate this product too highly. They don't usually go wrong, and of course I haven't tried their nearly $200 "recommended" model, but for me, a busy mom of 2 hungry boys, this worked so much better than my 2 options I had used before! I cook my bacon in the oven, take it out a little undercooked and…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

I replaced my 2 year old Presto pan. A year later he burned and looked very bad. This lasted another year and I could see the finish deteriorating so it was time to replace it. This pan is a little smaller but I can still cook the same size in it. I use it on eggs, bacon, pancakes, steak sandwiches, and grilled sandwiches. The drip tray is small but I have no problem with the size for what I use it for. I didn't use the heater so I can't comment on that. It's light compared to my previous…
