Works best when measuring

So I got this as a last resort after quitting a job supplying tools to another employer who was doing this didn't. In short, side by side with the bigger brands, it performs almost identically. Has served me well, but as I work for a living (machining) I will eventually switch to better known brands. Keep in mind that unless I had a direct comparison to peers' more expensive measuring tool, I probably would never trust it to do what I do. but it works and does the job I used to do to meet +/- 0.005 tolerances. I wouldn't trust that blindly, although something like this is used as if it's a due diligence thing if given the chance. Something so cheap always makes you wonder. I have other tools that I paid 5x the amount for that I don't trust so it's probably my business but like I said it works. Cons and what you pay for when it comes to more expensive/expensive options. The probe is at least 1/8 inch shorter, maybe 3/16, than your Mitutoyo, Starrett or other famous brands. Secondly the dial doesn't turn easily as it was messed up in my last employer's free time and had interapids there was no problem turning the dial to zero or the number you wanted. If you rotate the bad boy dial when it's at "zero", at least on mine, your indicator will move 100%. The reason I gave it 4 stars for ease of reading is that at certain angles the 'glass' can appear as if the hand is on a different number than when looking at it directly. But that's all for me, the product works well. Buy it works. Silver lining, if you decide to "upgrade" now, you'll have credit or a tool to use for sketchy tweaks.
