Review on Enhance Engine Performance πŸ”§ with Motorcraft FD4615 Fuel Filter by Wayde Lash

Save money by doing this job yourself, great OEM parts with EVERYTHING you need to install.

This is a great OEM replacement kit containing everything needed to complete the fuel filter. I couldn't believe how much money the dealer was willing to charge for a fuel filter change, I feel like dealers or mechanics in general often take advantage of people who don't understand how easy it is to do some routine work. Buying the parts cost about 1/3 the cost the dealer would do for me. And when you find yourself having to do that job every 15,000 miles, wow, it's just better to learn to do it yourself. **An installation note** For the white filter located just below the driver's door. next to the junction box. You can use a giant head to pull the part out, but you're working with plastic. I think it's 33mm or something huge! However, I strongly recommend using a strap wrench to avoid breaking the plastic piece holding the internal filter. For the 2011 and newer F250 there are two fuel filters, one under the driver's door on the vehicle's chassis and the other in the hood towards the firewall on the driver's side. At the bottom of the filter, make sure you drain the diesel from the filter using the yellow knob. Then unplug the sensor wire from the filter housing, use a strap wrench to remove the fuel filter housing, make sure you have something to catch the diesel as more diesel will leak out. When replacing the filter, look at how the old one sits to make sure you installed it correctly, but the open end should be facing up. Remember to replace the gasket on the connector on the truck before screwing on the new filter. The front filter is a bit simpler. Find it under the hood, it looks like a black filter with two hose connections, one inlet and one outlet. *Note* Your truck's filter can have three things, the third is the fill factor nipple and the replacement will not have that, this is one way of knowing if your fuel filter was ever changed from the factory if it has two or three exit. Remove the hoses and then use a 7mm socket wrench to loosen the clamp around the filter, turn clockwise until it stops, then pull up and install by following the same steps in reverse order.
