This is exactly what I needed and at a great price. Makes a noticeable difference. I had 3GB on my Dell Studio PC, 1 chip for 1GB, the other for 2GB. I wanted to upgrade to a total of 4GB. I've always thought that when upgrading or swapping memory, it's best to swap them out in pairs of the same speed, type, and brand. Of course, I could only buy a 2GB chip and hoped there wouldn't be any compatibility issues. I think a lot of people compromise this way and end up with compatibility issues that they blame on the store and/or the vendor. The customer needs to know exactly what they need and what works best in their particular situation. You should also check what type of memory you need, and most importantly, update your computer's BIOS by visiting your computer manufacturer's website. The Crucial Memory website has a tool that will scan your system and show you exactly what memory you have installed and your options. Spring. No need to order from a computer manufacturer and pay ridiculous prices.
