Very useful upgrade to an old laptop

The old laptop I originally installed these DDR2 RAM modules in only sees a total of 3GB. So I installed a new 2GB + 1GB in each of the two laptops; both are now maxed out by 3GB. The increase in laptop speed isn't spectacular, but it's noticeable. FYI, the biggest and best improvement was going from the original HDD to an SSD running Linux Mint 20.1. Perfect!

Specifications are not advertised, DO NOT buy

If this was the last DDR2 RAM module on the planet I wouldn't be using it. This product is a scam. Mine arrived on time, thanks Revain. What didn't come in time was the speed. It ran slower than 2GB RAM. I noticed that this is not DDR2 800MHz RAM, it is 667MHz RAM. Also, it's just renamed Hynix RAM. This is complete plagiarism that someone once got away with. Beware of that Komputerbay stuff

Someone at Revain has a vested interest.

It's free! Runs SIGNIFICANTLY slower than the 3GB of RAM that was already in the PC. I was hoping this would help me with my CPU upgrade, but it only made things worse. AVOID! Numerous user reviews say the same thing. I didn't believe it at first, but after purchasing and replacing it, I can confirm it's true. I have already submitted this review at least 4 times to express my frustration and it has never been edited. Someone on the review team must have a legitimate interest in this useless…

Computerbay saves the day here!

Computerby labels mean memory I would trust. I just upgraded an old Sony VAIO laptop (Intel chipset) that was salvaged on the way to recycling. The 64-bit operating systems I prefer can't do much with 2GB, I need more. That's what happened. I had SODIMM DDR2 orphans from previous komputerbay kits where strangely only 4+2=6GB worked, not 4+4=8. In the old VAIO 4+2=6GB Memtest+ didn't load, boo wow even though it was 32-bit Booted Vista, but tested 4+1=5GB as fast dual channel in Memtest+ well. I

Happy customers are the key to running a successful business

My computer business requires frequent RAM upgrades for older computers and in this case Toshiba Satellite needs that RAM. I had heard of "Computerby" but maybe once before this purchase but was willing to risk an unspecified name as there are many high quality computer parts that do not have a name. My customer hasn't complained about BSOD, boot errors, or performance lags that can occur with poor quality RAM. I hooked up the upgrade to the SSD and this old computer turned into a beast again…

Great upgrade for 2008 iMac

Installed on my parents 2008 iMac and works as advertised. I was hesitant to buy RAM from this company at first, but most of the reviews were very positive. I was taking a risk but also had some confidence knowing the company had a lifetime guarantee. Ordered and installed with no problems, my order was actually delivered on Sunday (Prime). I originally only wanted to order 2GB as my parents' iMac only had 1GB of RAM, but for the price I could have completely upgraded their iMac. I was home for

The first set with a faulty module; The second set works well

Submission: I wanted to upgrade the memory in an old 2008 iMac from 2GB to 4GB. Packaging: The storage came in a small plastic clamshell that was easy to open and access. The Fit: This storage was exactly what I was looking for. I inherited an old 2008 iMac (one of the first aluminum versions) and before I gave it to a family member I wanted to (cheaply) double the storage capacity. As mentioned, the first set of SoDimms I received had a faulty module (which prevented the iMac from starting)…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast

  • Vulgarity

Quality memory at discounted prices. Before you buy

This is exactly what I needed and at a great price. Makes a noticeable difference. I had 3GB on my Dell Studio PC, 1 chip for 1GB, the other for 2GB. I wanted to upgrade to a total of 4GB. I've always thought that when upgrading or swapping memory, it's best to swap them out in pairs of the same speed, type, and brand. Of course, I could only buy a 2GB chip and hoped there wouldn't be any compatibility issues. I think a lot of people compromise this way and end up with compatibility issues that
