Review on 🔒 SmartKey Satin Chrome Deadbolt by Kwikset: 660 Single Cylinder Deadbolt with Enhanced Security by Brandon Gaines

This latch is supplied with an 'A' latch which may require a square notch in the door edge which may need to be slotted or milled to accommodate the surround which is an integral part of the latch. The instructions list either an "A" type or a "K" type, the latter having a tab without a placket called a "tuck-in" collar. The product description does not state whether you are purchasing an "A" or "K" closure. Unfortunately I received an "A" type. However, I had several sets of locks salvaged from old locks and found a snap fastener "K". that I could use. But your door already has a square latch recess with a square "A" style faceplate, this part will do. Some other locks I've bought in the past have an option to pry off the rectangular face so you could use a latch in the mortise latch hole. However, this lock has no additional hardware to use a latch, so the rectangular faceplate on this latch cannot be removed. Overall, the lock was installed with no further problems. The smart key feature allowed me to easily replace the keys that came with the lock with keys I already used on other locks in my house. This is my first time using this smart key swapping feature, it was amazingly easy and works the first time I get started.
