I bought this modem to replace a 6 year old Arris Surfboard modem. I wanted to upgrade to this one as it supports 24x8 channels while my old modem was 4x4. Setup was easy. It achieved the expected speed in both download and upload. After a few months, I noticed that our internet sometimes went down. It was annoying, but I turned off/on the modem, left it off for 10 seconds, then turned it back on. This will fix it. This will probably happen once a week. Until yesterday morning I woke up and my internet wasn't working. I did my typical reset process and the internet didn't come back online. I restarted my router and it did nothing. I connected directly to my modem from my laptop and there was no internet. The Comcast app reported that it cannot identify the modem and it is disabled. All the lights on the front of the modem indicated that it was working properly, which it definitely wasn't. After several hours of fiddling and trying all the tricks in the book, I decided this modem is dead. I had to cancel all appointments for the day and run to the local electronics store to get another modem. I didn't make the mistake of buying another junk Netgear modem. I'm going back to the surfboard since my last one has been running without problems for six years.
