OK. They were cheap, but they still shouldn't melt. When the black side of the material melted, I thought at first, well, just let the gray side touch the thermal contact, but that melted too. I don't cook airplanes here, I just bake cookies. . . black border on gray side, gray contact side and black material side melt/burn easily. I was looking for a small potholder because I have small hands and don't like big elastics that are too bulky for small hands. I've been trying to find the little fat things of the past that have always lasted for years, but alas, they're not.
