Review on Enhanced Cuisinart Gold Tone Filtering System by Philip Anderson

this is enough to catch all the bases

As for those who complain that this filter is not durable and the network "split", I can say that the problem is probably the wrong one handling of the filter itself. Unlike paper filters, which are simply thrown in the trash, this one has to be cleaned by hand. If the user taps a trash can with the side of the filter to remove debris, this will likely result in the mesh detaching from the plastic frame within a few weeks of use. Instead, just use a (plastic) spoon to scoop out the ground soil and rinse the remaining soil down the sink. I've been using this thing for a few months now and haven't had any problems. For those complaining that she jumps thick, I can make that clear. The paper filter has much smaller holes between the fibers to filter the coffee. The mesh of this filter is about the size of pantyhose, so it doesn't filter as well as paper. But it's enough to catch any thick ones (and I grind coffee in espresso mode because I like strong coffee). What this filter doesn't catch is the fine coffee powder that's present in every batch of ground coffee. The powder WILL pass through this filter and settle to the bottom of the pot or cup as it is heavier than water. So you see a cloud of this fine powder in your cup for the last 2 cups poured from the brewed batch - when you add cream to your coffee (if you drink it black you don't see the powder). I just skip the last few sips of coffee from the last few cups as drinking the powder gives you a REAL dose of caffeine. That works great. On the other hand, if you can't stand the thought of powder in the bottom of the last cup of the pot, all you have to do is keep using paper filters. 22 months. The filter is intact and continues to filter coffee like it was brand new.
