This is a solid and powerful machine that will easily cut all the ice we could put in it. very similar to a snow cone but not as consistent. It's fine if you want a snow cone machine, but it's not acceptable as an ice shaver. We made special frozen ice cream with Solo type paper cups. The paper cups fit snugly into the machine, like a solid block, round and of the same shape as the chute you put the ice cream in. This eliminates the possibility that the ice was crushed due to movement or impact. The ice cream we created was perfect. Still, the twin blades didn't cut the ice, and the blades chopped the ice into intolerable pieces. We wanted to make Taiwanese style shaving cream with this machine, but that's not possible with this machine. There is a big difference between shaved and crushed/crushed ice and this device doesn't deliver it.
