Very functional, a bit unattractive

I've been looking for a larger knitting bag on the market for a long time. This is the best I've found. It's perfect? no But I haven't found another one that has all the features that this one has. ADVANTAGES. The double hole is ideal for hooks, not accessories. The rear opening also features multiple upright hook holders that allow for longer hook storage. I also have VERY long lace hooks that fit diagonally. There is a good array of resilient mounts in more than one width and orientation. A very flexible little space that you don't often find in these cases. Mesh pockets are large and can hold multiple items. I have seen, as other reviewers have complained that the mesh pockets do not hold fine finishing needles. The solution is very simple: I thread the needles THROUGH the net and make them accessible. I also put loop holders in there, like little padlocks. I find the grid used in this way to be a bonus. There are many sizes of rubber bands for hook holders. Even the thinnest needles can be grouped for a secure fit. CONS and POSSIBILITIES FOR IMPROVEMENT: Everything except elastic and mesh is plastic. Plastic will never last long, plus it looks "cheap". It would be much better if it was made of durable reinforced canvas material. Functionality is more important than form with this type of holder, but attractiveness would be nice too. A large zippered or flap pocket would be extremely helpful. Again on the subject of aesthetics I am not enthusiastic about the limited design options. None of them are very attractive (at least to me) or attractive. Simple spot colors would also be a good option. GENERAL INFO: Looks damn cheap, which is far from optimal, but VERY functional. If you're a knitter who uses different needles and devices for different projects, that's great.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
