Review on HANGER PUMP ASSEMBLY, Silver: The Ultimate Pump Solution for Efficiently Hanging and Dispensing Liquids by Thomas Henry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great, fuel float may need adjustment to show correctly with aftermarket Spectra tank.

This is the second Delphi fuel pump I have purchased. When I first had to replace a rusty fuel tank on a '94 Chevy pickup a few years ago, I replaced the fuel pump with an Airtex, which lasted less than a year. I didn't want to drop the tank a third time so I tried the Delphi fuel pump assembly which is the OEM equivalent. There were no problems with this truck despite not being used for several years when the Airtex pump failed under the same conditions. When I needed to replace a rusting gas tank on a '91 Chevy pickup, I went back to the Delphi build. Again, there's no problem, although it shows as empty when there's about 8 gallons left in the 32-gallon tank. I think this is the fault of the Spectra's replaced fuel tank, which was deeper than the original tank to the point where one of the tank straps was 1-2 inches shorter. Had I known this before installing it, I would have adjusted the bend in the fuel float cable so that the float touches the bottom of the tank at its lowest position.
