Review on πŸ”₯ iUniker Raspberry Pi 4 Case with Large 4007 Cooling Fan, Heatsink, and Metal Enclosure by Adam Browning

Nice metal case, fan only works with mods

Nice metal case for Raspberry Pi at a very good price. If you don't need additional active cooling (not needed unless you really want to maximize performance) then you're good to go. However, if you want to use a fan for active cooling, you have to make some modifications. Likes: - A high quality metal body at an amazing price (at the time of review). - At first glance everything looks fine. - The slot provides cable access to the GPIO ports inside. - Easy construction. Dislikes: - The fan is not part of the case design. There is no ventilation. At best, the fan will attempt to direct air onto an unventilated interior wall. It is difficult. At best, this fan can get you into thermal equilibrium faster (outside the case vs. inside the room) rather than improving maximum steady-state performance. So this can help with normal performance (at the cost of longer high-frequency bursts before the thermal limit kicks in), but doesn't really help with sustained heavy use. To make this case active and efficient you'll need to add at least one set of vents, perhaps by drilling a few holes on the fan mounts. Other gaps in the case can allow air to flow in a different direction, which you could help by adding more vents in front of the fan. All in all, if you leave the fan on and run it with heatsinks, this is a good little case. The Ras Pi runs fine without active cooling, apart from a slight drop in performance during intense workloads (e.g. gaming or other CPU/GPU intensive applications). While browsing the web, you probably don't care. 5 stars as a passive housing. 2 stars as an actively cooled case, unless you want to modify something.
