Great product but poor instructions and software

This microscope works great if you know how to use it. The instructions are very poor and the AMCAP software on the included mini-disc is useless for photography. When you turn it on, you have a choice: Mass storage - use it to connect to the PC as a storage device ). If you want to change these modes, you have to turn them off and on again. The included software does not work for photography. On my Windows 10 Pro PC this works for videos. Luckily I have another, larger copy of AMCAP version 9.016 that has still support and works fine. The included software does not have an installer, you must either run it from the CD or manually copy the executable to your computer and create your own shortcut. I haven't researched the website to see if there are any new instructions. or newer version of the software. Bottom line: once you figure out how it works, it's great. Check out my picture of bad soldering on a circuit board. I keep the microscope. UPDATE: If you follow the link in the instructions, you can download other software that takes pictures. However, I prefer the features of the full version of AMCAP. I received my copy with a different handheld USB microscope. One reviewer mentioned that the display doesn't tilt, that's wrong, it does tilt, but the first time I tried tilting it it got stuck and it took quite a while. Try to move it, after that it moved normally. Also, the microscope/display assembly was very loose in the stand before I found a piece of white flexible plastic strip in the box. I had to cut about 1/8" off the end and then attach it between the scope assembly and the ring in the stand, which solved the problem.
