Review on Offset Engine Socket Wrench Mercedes by Chris Horton

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't really need it

I ordered this wrench based on reviews saying it was a necessary tool for replacing Mercedes engine mounts. I had just replaced two of the three fasteners on my 2000 E320 and never took the wrench out of my pocket - I was able to easily use my standard 16mm master ring/wrench. I decided to remove the passenger side alternator in place of the exhaust pipe and when I did that there was enough room in the engine bay to take a bath. After all the intimidation I've experienced from horror stories from both reviewers and stores, I found changing the mount incredibly simple and easy. The hardest part for me was aligning the bolt holes on the alternator after the fasteners were in place. I now have an even greater disrespect for car thieves and auto repair shops. It was such an easy job, but I have to admit that I have yet to replace the driver's side bracket. maybe I'll eat another modest cake. we will see this weekend.
