A pair of these allows you to select two points on the object (right and left) and both pairs of metal rings fit on the hook of my motor crane. Also, for some parts I attached a piece of 6ft webbing with loop ends and then threaded these shorts through the loops to connect to the crane hook. Update: Take my advice from experience: buy a pair, not one. For 2x money you get 6x convenience/value if you have a pair. In any case, they are not that expensive.
