Square 8 pin amplifier input connector stinks. The mechanical case is so poorly designed that there is a 50/50 chance that the pins will connect properly. I could only get one bank of speakers to work at a time. Metra Engineering has failed in its task of correctly classifying these cheap parts. Shame on you. It is only needed if you want to use the factory amp. If you want to bypass the amp, the bypass harness will not work with Premium 96 F-150 stereo applications. You should cut it in half and instead connect the outputs of the radio's speaker amp directly to the amp's output jack.
