Review on Enhanced Agri-Cover Access 60090 TrailSeal Bed Seal Kit by Nathan Jones

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Adhesive rejection on the first day.

I like that the kit includes large blocks of foam to seal the areas under the body rails, but the foam grommets were disappointing. The main seal at the end of the tailgate, which runs through the underside of the tailgate, is L-shaped. It looked like it would work fine, but the glue fell off after the first day. Before you think about the installation error, think again. I gave the bed a thorough wash and used isopropyl alcohol to clean the surfaces that were going to get the adhesive side of the gasket. I even waited until the outside temp hit 70F (a month or two after I bought the kit). The failure occurred at the bond of the adhesive to the rubber gasket and not the adhesive to the paint. So it was glue sticking to the bed, not a rubber gasket. This did not occur along the entire length of the seal, but periodically throughout the seal, affecting about half of its total length. Hopefully just bad QC. Be careful with foam blocks when installing. I accidentally pushed one too far and it got stuck somewhere under the bed and above the GM-supplied wheelhouse liners. Later that day my wife was chasing me in her car and it ended up exploding somewhere on the freeway but I didn't stop to try to find her. I emailed customer service to order a replacement block and to ask a question about the sticking issue, but never received a response. I'll probably get another kit to fit my new truck, but I can use another company's tailgate seal. Either that or I'm trying to find blocks of foam to cut and install to fill in the large gaps under the bed rails.

Pros
  • To protect the truck bed from water, snow and dust
Cons
  • Legacy
