Our hummingbird feeder came with flowers and bee protection in each opening (4). They are detachable, they can be cleaned, but they are very fragile. The top snaps on one side and leaves the other side hooked so you can clean the mold. Handle with care. This part breaks so easily! In areas with high humidity, and we are so muggy, mold grows quickly and the feeder has to be dismantled to clean it again. Replacement is necessary because no one, whether you're a lobster or someone who cleans a feeder, wants to find the bees inside, in the places on the tubes where the beaks look for nectar, or entirely inside the jar! If they aren't dead, you're in trouble with the crazy bee! So I am grateful for this product and its availability at Revain at a reasonable price. Not a single store in our town sells them. Buy extra!
