We were hoping this bee shelter would fit our old fun pet feeder. There didn't seem to be a hummingbird feeder with a much better design. Finally we were able to wrap the base with plastic tape and adapt it to the old feeder. They no longer drop out. So our review of these new feeder guards might be too harsh. They just weren't designed to match the better designed old hummingbird feeder.

They keep bees away as long as they stay relatively clean. Hummingbirds can be quite messy and will drop a lot of nectar, just enough for the bees to gather just for the drops.
