Ratings that the pad is too weak are correct. Bought for a 20 gallon tank used for seed germination to maintain a constant 80 degree temperature and high humidity during winter. The large 24w mat is designed for a 50-60 gallon tank. Completely wrong! Keep my house at 70 degrees. With 2 gallons of water at the bottom of a 20 gallon tank and everything but the bottom covered in insulating foam, this permanent mat cannot heat the tank to 80 degrees. 78 or 79 max. The electronic controls are good, they seem to do their job of controlling the temperature and power of the mat. Matthias is too weak.
