Review on ☕ Apexstone Coffee Scale with Timer: Precise Brewing Companion for Pour Over and Espresso by Jackie Wright

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Accurate, stable and reliable; Good deal Total

I am an award winning barista who has competed in many places in Italy, Japan and the USA. I've used scales 100 times more expensive than these and yet they're almost indistinguishable in terms of consistent, accurate readings that can be trusted. I trust this scale so much that I use it when traveling and want to make coffee. Obviously they are not perfect, no standard can be; it can reach a certain degree of error close to the ideal. That's about as close as you can get without buying a professional scale, which I compared these to. In general, the difference can be anywhere from 0.3 to 1.2 grams. But for cheap plastic scales that cost less than $20, that's more than acceptable. In my experience, the best thing you can do to get the best performance from this scale is to change the batteries monthly and be sure to install the scale. on as level a surface as possible. As a pro, you can bet I'm a lot more picky about these things, which is why I basically fill every surface I place this scale on with a spirit level, but as long as you have a good eye, it probably won't do a noticeable one make a difference for you. I give it 5/5 because it's as good as the price. EDIT: Also, don't use the batteries that came with the scale, they work; but I tested them with my voltmeter and found that they put out the minimum amount of current needed to run the scale. For the best performance, use fresh, new batteries from a trusted manufacturer. If you want to go one step further, you can also simply test the batteries before they run out. If they test above 1.2V each, you're good to go.
