First, I've installed dozens and dozens of lever style door handles over the past decade and used most of the name brands like Kwikset/Schlage as well as the generic ones from Home Depot and Menards. For the most part, there is no difference between the generics and the Kwikset (usually about a $5 discount vs the Kwikset/Schlage ones). I found this set on Ebay and thought it would be a great option since its about a $10 discount vs the generic ones and a $15 discount from the KW/Schlage kits. The handles look great, the metal is solid and has a nice even finish. It feels sturdy in the hand and doesn't appear to look cheap. There is an odd hexagon in the center of the handle that doesn't look particularly appealing to me but its not overly noticeable. The screws are visible on the one side and the accompanying insert is more of a brass color so if you look closely it doesn't match very well with the satin nickel finish of the exterior. This may or may not bother you depending on how picky you are. These handles are about as easy to install as any handle. Shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes. They fit fine and tolerances are fairly reasonable. That said, once installed you find the biggest issue. The handles turn easy enough but there is simply not enough spring tension to return the handles back to the default position. IF you pull the lever down or up and just let go, the lever remains in that position. Not a great feature. You have to manually bring the lever back to the default position or it will remain where you last had it. This can cause the door not to latch successfully because the handle was turned partially and the latching mechanism remains depressed. At approximately $9 a handle you might be fine with this but in operation, it is definitely noticeable and not particularly enjoyable to use on your doors.Because of this I can't recommend them to anyone because first for foremost a door handle needs to work properly. I've installed 5 of these and they all have the same problem so I know it wasn't just one defective handle out of the bunch. If you're installing these in a rental or to flip a house where you're not going to actually use them and just want it to look nice then these will probably be fine but if you're going to use the handles yourself, go ahead and buy the generics at Home Depot/Lowes or Menards.
