The suction power is not very good. Suitable for small aquariums.
hose is very small (probably an inch). This is normal for small aquariums. But not suitable for a large aquarium. My older one became brittle and cracked down the middle. So, bought. But since it doesn't work with my large tank (37 gallons) I returned it and got a regular siphon that works very well.
