Review on Waterproof 12V LED Trailer Light Kit for Submersible Heavy Duty Utility Trailers - Carrep (2pcs Square Trailer Lights) by Ethan Carpenter

Not worth the price!

Firstly, the four-pin flat connector is not a conventional standard size. It fits perfectly with the included car wire harness but not the adapter for my 7 pin car wire harness. All other 4 pin spade connectors I've used over the years work great with this. The 3 pins are closer together and I had to bend the second and third pins further away from the first to get this pin to fit! The fork did not fit flush because the feet of the fork bolts were still too close together. I have a good electrical connection; but this is far from ideal! Second, the wiring is not all copper, as that addendum states. The harness wires are copper, the wires coming out of the lights are very thin aluminum. I like to use built-in 18-22 gauge crimp connections with heat shrink tubing. They stuck well to the copper wire end of the bundle, but it was very difficult to secure the thin aluminum lighting wires in the clamp. I ended up using the wire nuts that came with it and sealed them with liquid tape. Good connection, but not as clean as built-in crimp connectors. Third, they claim that it comes with a metal license plate holder and not a plastic one. Also, the license plate holder only has holes for a regular license plate that will not fit the smaller 7" Wyoming trailer license plates. I've seen other similar kits for under $20 but didn't buy them because a lot of the reviews said they were very cheap. I ended up buying this one because they claimed all their wires are copper, the plate holder is metal, and it's heavy duty. .

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I won't say anything
