I bought this machine in 2017 but hardly used it until recently (October 2019). I got about 25 hours of (gentle) use from it before it broke in the middle of a project. Here you have"hard work"! I immediately checked the Janome warranty, but of course it had already expired. I called to inquire about the cost of the repair and found that the minimum repair cost would be around $200, which is half the original purchase price of the machine! I (fortunately) prudently spent an extra $30 at the time of purchase to get SquareTrade's extended warranty. I immediately connected to the network and submitted a claim on the SquareTrade website. Just a few hours later, I received an email confirmation of the repair! Here is the service! Then I needed a referral for a qualified local repair shop, so I chatted with Jacob online (also on the SquareTrade website) and within minutes got the contact information for the nearest shop. Let's see how SquareTrade reimburses me for the repair costs, but so far so good! Six weeks later: I finally received the car from a local repair shop for a total price of $196.56. Ouch! I immediately scanned the receipt and uploaded it to the SquareTrade website. Less than two hours later, I received an email saying I would receive a check in the mail for the ENTIRE amount within five business days. A week later it was in my hands! I am very impressed with SquareTrade! A sewing machine, nothing more. Maybe it will work better in the future. If so, I'll raise my rating.
