good value, easy to install, safe to drive

I had a 2011 Ford F-150 because it was new. Just a few weeks after I bought it, I hit the passenger mirror and it fell to the ground. The dealer called me hundreds of dollars to replace it. I told them I just need new glass, not a whole new door. I bought a new jar, spent a few hours cleaning the original substrate, and put it back in place. A few months later someone pushed me into the parking lot and I found a broken mirror on the ground. Ordered another glass, spent a few more hours. Repeat this story several times. It got to the point where I kept the broken glass on the mirror because it kept falling off. I went back to the dealer and called Ford customer service. The price was always several hundred dollars. Eventually, he fell while driving on the freeway. I figured after all these years someone was probably doing an aftermarket replacement. This replacement costs less than glass (I have one left). It took a few tries (and some superglue) to keep it in place, but it's stronger than the stock mirror - doesn't wobble while driving. I can fold the mirror when the parking space is tight and it won't fall off. I still think it's a manufacturing defect that Ford won't address, but at $12 it's better than the original. Worth the price. There are no tools to install it.
