My favorite knife became duller and blunter over time and finally this knife sharpener came to my rescue. I was very surprised at how durable it felt. The base has these built in rubber feet that helped it stay in place while I was sharpening my favorite knife. In just a few passes through the sharpener, I saw the metal shavings that appeared as a result of using each of the sharpening modes. After cleaning the knife, I was able to slice some onions with no problem. I was very impressed! This little sharpener is great and I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quality sharpener. You can't go wrong with this. There's even a mode for sharpening kitchen scissors. Brilliant! :)
