The headlamp is attached to the handlebars with a plastic strap that is tightened with a small screw, two serpentine friction straps are included so that the light can be mounted on handlebars of different diameters, including children's bikes. The taillight attaches with a simple adjustable rubber strap with five different holes for different mounting options. My son prefers to place the light on the back of his bike helmet rather than on the bike seat stem. Headlight and taillight are charged via the included USB cable. with two USB-A to USB-Micro charging cables for charging headlights and taillights. The headlight has a USB-A port so you can charge your phone in a pinch, but not sure how much it can actually charge your phone as the batteries are only rated at 2400mAh. Even the product page says you can charge your mobile device in an emergency, even though it's not actually a power bank. I actually prefer ABS over aluminum bike lights because the plastic can handle accidental falls or falls on cement or asphalt better. I dropped a couple of aluminum bike lights on the ground when removing or attaching them to my bike to charge the lights. Usually my hands are a bit busy with the helmet, water bottle, phone and keys because my shorts don't have pockets and when I try to carry everything at once those little bike lights can easily fall out. Plastic survives a fall easily, while aluminum has sharp edges after a good fall where it hits the tarmac. I'm sure in what conditions flashing the headlight is good). I've seen reports that flashing headlights are illegal in some places and countries so I'm not sure what benefit this has in a bike light. The taillight has multiple light modes in case you get bored with a simple solid red or flashing red, but again I don't see the need or benefit of the extra three modes. I gave it five stars because it does everything it's supposed to do, just USB charging, bright light, easy to mount/remove to charge, and works as advertised.
