My relationship with Thomas (Westfalia HT) lasted for close to ten years, but eventually it came to an end. Nothing under the moon can be guaranteed to last forever. Perhaps you could just wash the filter like you normally would and let it dry so that it doesn't end up covered in mold (covered). In general, I put up with him for a whole year before finally shipping him off to the countryside. In addition, I purchased the same Thomas for long-term usage.
