Very powerful: fish and aquatic animals

Nice and quiet, but VERY powerful. I installed it in a 55 gallon aquarium that has a red-eared slider that even needs a little learning to handle its intense blowing power. This is similar to the jets you find in hot tubs. I couldn't even imagine using this item successfully in anything less than 55 gallons, especially if you have regular fish that aren't very strong.
