Review on 🚲 VP Components VP-Vice Bike Pedals (2-Pack) by Michael Eldridge

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Bearing issues straight out of the box (2 different sets of pedals)

I tried these pedals on my Trek Slash Enduro bike that had previously been ridden with Crank Brothers 5050 pedals 3. Love the design and the Grip is fantastic! (much better than my Crank Brothers 5050 pedals). However, as some other reviewers have noted, the bearings don't seem to be the best. On my first ride, riding 2 miles on the trail, the left pedal made a faint "click" with each pedal stroke. By the end of the 15-mile drive, the click had turned into a loud bang. Frustrated, I returned home to fix the problem and disassembled the pedal. I didn't see anything wrong and it was a lot of lube so I reassembled the pedal and kept riding. I drove about 7 miles before the same noise came back. I'm not sure if I was "unsuccessful" and really liked the design of the pedal, but thank goodness Revain accepts returns! It might be worth thinking twice before buying this pedal set. Update: August 2016 I love the design, grip and size of the pedals so much that I decided to give them another try. I bought a second set of these pedals after returning the first defective pair. Unfortunately, I had the same problem: After a few kilometers on the trail, the right pedal had an audible and tangible knock. I put the pedals on my road bike to make sure my bike wasn't the problem, but unfortunately the problem persisted. Looks like VP either had quality control issues or made the pedals cheap on purpose. Return a second pair and never look back!
