Review on πŸ”„ Vinyl Record Cleaning Brush - Ultimate Record Cleaner for Record Rescue by John Hall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works very well, looks a bit cheap.

For those who love vinyl records like me, I don't need to bother with the ritual required to preserve them while reducing the "popping" of stubborn dust. Depending on how picky you are (or how obtrusive you are) the necessary caution can be extensive. I wanted an alternative to the D-4 liquid and brush method as it doesn't have to be every time you play a record. In the past, a variety of brushes and anti-static devices could satisfy the most obsessive person; Now, however, the choice is really small. So when I saw this brush I jumped at buying it; Think how effective and easy carbon fiber brushes are for removing static electricity and dirt from vinyl records. This brush does its job well despite its cheap looks. Pressed metal handle rotating on a horizontal axis to partially protect the bristles when not in use. As long as you carefully turn the handle into the brush-hold position, i.e. do not contaminate it with finger oil, this works very well. It's wide enough to cover the entire record at 33 RPM, and the fibers appear small enough to fit into the record's grooves. I haven't developed a system to remove accumulated brush grime yet, but so far my ears are telling me it reduces the pops and scratches in my records. In general, I'm a "form follows function" type of person, but once that's achieved, he finds that good craftsmanship adds a human touch that makes things enjoyable to use, aside from serving a specific purpose In this case, I'm definitely happy with the performance of the brush and it's fairly easy to use, but there are two things I'm not happy with: First, the handle is a U-shaped piece Steel with a plastic holder inside that contains bristles. This handle looks and feels cheap." Also, the bristles are curved in places and unevenly cut in places. This doesn't seem to affect its dust particle removal performance, but it does give food for thought to rate it. However, the only real cause for concern is the edge of the steel handle, which is not fully machined." and can damage a groove or two if dropped. To prevent this, do not hold the brush by the red part of the handle, use a teak cover on the handle that folds out of the way and provides a secure grip only a drunken sailor could handle. Finally there are only two rows of bristles making the product inexpensive. The ones I've bought in the past have 3 bis 5 rows of bristles that pick up more dust while reducing more static electricity to prevent dust build-up during record playback Despite these observations, I'm very happy with how well the record performs Rescue removes dust and static electricity A simple before/after Test shows my ears that it really does its job Now if they add more bristles, a wooden handle (with nicely rounded edges) and using a third row of bristles I'd happily pay twice as much to have one. For now I'm happy and wealthy but will be on the lookout for other static dust removal brushes. After all, listening to vinyl records is a truly ritualistic experience, and nothing complements a good ritual more than instruments that are easy to use, beautiful, and of high quality. Unlike digital devices, analog devices require constant and careful maintenance. For some it's worth the effort, while others are rediscovering that the analog experience has a more comfortable "organic" feel. Yes, there are occasional pops and squeaks during listening, but there's also a more direct feel and "immediacy" to the sound compared to the "sterility" of digital recordings. For my part, I like having access to both digital and analogue channels; everyone has their own place. Nice to hear from you.
