That's great. for a year or two

I've been installing it over an AEM dry filter for about 2 years now. don't get wet at all. When I recently cleaned my filter, I double-checked the water resistance. Now it has no impregnation and a few small holes in the material for no apparent reason. I only reinstalled it thinking it could still act as a pre-filter to keep the filter clean. Everything was fine until I drove through a severe thunderstorm and water from the road got into the filter. The car stalled and died after a few kilometers. Luckily I was able to restart it and return home. No wonder the car kicked out all the MAF codes because it got wet. When handled new, it was pretty clear that the impregnation was the result of some type of chemical impregnation film applied to the outside. I'll see if I can reseal it with a can of Scotchgard. Finally, it is advertised as a breathable waterproofing solution. I will report if it works. Update: I've successfully re-waterproofed my screen with 3M Scotchgard Waterproofing Spray, which I bought from the camping department of Walmart for less than $5. As long as it doesn't tear further, I can keep using the waterproof for a long time.
