Original Quality Note. Aluminum and copper hate each other electrically. Cleaning soldering gun tubes is difficult, but it has to be done. Cut a piece of metal bracket with wire cutters, bend one end at a 90° angle, it should be snug. Cut the bent leg so that it is just barbs. Otherwise it will not enter the hole. Run the wire up and down through the aluminum hole. It takes about 30-40 strokes down the barrel to scrape the aluminum oxide. I close my eyes and blow into the hole to clear the sand. Install a new tip. And don't forget to retighten the gland nuts after the break-in period. Caig DeOxit D100 can be used for maximum cleaning but is not required. Your Weller pistol will work like new.
