Replaces my 10 year old IKEA Microplane. I really like the function of the handle as well as everything else that allows you to hold it lightly and tend to rub and rub. The blades are sharp but safe enough to use and I still use them to grate fresh parmesan or ginger. I would also use it to grind citrus fruits. It's very easy to clean. Simply rinse and wipe off. I think you could put it in the dishwasher if you want, but I don't need it.
