I bought this case to display both British and American models. British OO (1/76th scale) and US/Continental HO (1/87th scale) are about the same size due to the smaller British loading gauge. The shelves have lips about 1/8" high. I wanted to display the trains on track but found that although the shelf is deep enough to accomodate the HO track the lip put the track too near the back. My solution was to turn the cabinet upside down as the undersides of the shelves are flat and the track can be positioned further out. This involved moving the hanging brackets but was no problem. The plexiglass door now hinges at the bottom with the clasps at the top. The cabinet looks great but special care is needed when putting the models in.
