The tool itself is very well made and works fairly accurately in its range which is the most important. A reverse contrast display is easier to read, but the timeout feature can feel pretty short at times. I wonder if this can be adjusted. Just keep in mind that you'll have to shell out a few bucks more to get a decent case and magnetic clip - ease of use also involves the physical positioning of the thing. The new case is bullshit. The older ones were lined and more durable, and the gauge also had a built-in magnet. Overall, though, these are very good $75 yards. The auto off timer can be nerve wracking.
