Amazing GPS!: GPS for sports and wearable devices

I bought this GPS as a gift for my dad last Christmas to make his snowmobile rides safer. After a season of use, he decided it was too tough and offered it to me for mountain biking. Although I wanted him to keep using it, I happily agreed! I now keep it in the RAM mount on the handlebars of my Trek Remedy and it has proven to be a faithful companion on my mountain bike rides. First I installed the SD card and downloaded the Garmin Topo 24k Northeast maps to get them. I always use Energizer Advanced Lithium batteries in it. They last a long time and are virtually immune to colder temperatures (make sure you select lithium batteries in GPS settings if using lithium batteries). After every mountain bike ride I upload the GPX file to Strava and it works great! Altitude, altitude graphics and of course distance and time are displayed perfectly. The screen is bright and detailed, the buttons are easy to use even with cycling gloves, it's waterproof and perfect for my needs. I don't know what I would do without him!

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • mostly ok but...
