Works well with 18-inch MBPro Retina display

Those of you who own a 2018 MacBook Pro 18-inch Retina will be disappointed by the lack of connectivity—everything you get are 4 proprietary Thunderbolt 3 ports. If you don't want to upgrade all your peripherals (!), this device is the perfect solution. It occupies two of your TB3 ports (either on the left or rotate the device to place it on the right of your laptop). gives you one back in return (so you still have 3xTB3) as well as 2 USB3.1 ports (the old big USB port), a USB-C port and microSD and SD card readers. , and an HDMI connector that appears to support 4K (I haven't been able to verify). The connector is really tight and it can be a bit awkward for inexperienced users to plug the device into the computer this way. But once it's connected, it won't let go unintentionally - it's a good thing that the data transfer isn't interrupted. the device may simply not be seated firmly enough. The unit does get a little warm, but not as much as the computer itself, and certainly not to the extent of similar models from other manufacturers, according to reviewers on this site. Overall I'm very happy with it - it does exactly what I wanted it to do. I would give 4.5 stars if such an option was available; The last half of the star is due to having to modify my Kuzy case to fit this device... not that hard but frustrating that I have to smash into a brand new case. perfectly functional. As a bonus, I found a padded spare reading glasses case (in space grey, of course!). It protects the device well when being rocked in a bag, as I wouldn't recommend taking it with you when it's attached to a laptop.
