It says it's copper and the reviews are pretty good. I used it to connect headlights and taillights on my 4runner. After about 3 months the headlights started failing (first the headlight LED strips, then the taillights) and I couldn't figure out what was going on. It turned out that wherever this scrap wire was used, it "hardened" and became brittle significantly. It will just pop if you touch it. Installation Notes: The wire was well insulated against the weather, and I've used liquid tape and regular tape in various places. The wire was t in the engine bay, and the wire that failed on the taillights was on the non-exhaust (i.e. non-heat related) side. No matter how I isolated him, nothing came of it. Red seems to fail more than black, but both fail. Don't buy this if you don't want to redo your work. The way I assembled the truck, glued and screwed everything together, it's really a hassle to go back to my wiring because these guys sell junk wiring. but both fail.
