After reading the reviews of this tool I followed the advice given and followed the instructions. Have a good sledgehammer for the drum and some high pressure grease for the threads. I used Sta-Lube Sta-Plex Extreme Pressure Grease. Tighten it and hit the drum with a sledgehammer, then tighten it more firmly. You can feel the tension release as you tighten the threads. Removed bass drums from a 1961 Austin-Healey 3000 that had sat for 30 years. Nothing I tried worked before this tool.
