Essential for rough roads but bad value for money

We originally bought our Cheetah 1 with the standard small stroller wheels as we thought the running set was too expensive and too big. But in fact, on any road other than quality asphalt, those little wheels created so much vibration that we sometimes had to push the stroller with the front wheels in the air (on some gravel roads in the parks). So we bought a running set. (Please note these kits vary by model and size) from your local retailer. Unfortunately the price doesn't match the quality. The cheapest hub, rim and tire (in my case a Kenda 16x1.75" plus two aluminum handlebars cost the same as a pair of really good bike wheels. The hub was tightened so tight it couldn't turn without much - The stock setting was required immediately after unpacking. Also note that you need to carefully adjust the angle of the wheel to ensure that the stroller moves in a straight line. But this kit turned our stroller into a real SUV! Especially after all the tires against much wider BMX tires (2.1" front and 3.0" rear) have been swapped out. Compared to the stock swivel wheels, it's like day and night - the stroller will easily drive over ANY road or rut. As long as there aren't any fallen trees :-) The maneuverability remains good enough for walks in parks etc. - this stroller was never designed for the city center anyway, and it is with this wheel quite possible to drive through some doors and stairs. Sure, a stroller with smaller wheels would be more manoeuvrable, but that's the price to pay for the excellent off-road mobility that the jogging kit offers.
