very soft and shiny. This is a beautiful yarn. But I am a total newbie and will leave this information to all other newbies. It doesn't look like wool. It's very smooth. It was impossible to knit with metal knitting needles, bamboo knitting needles turned out much better. It also doesn't have much stretch. I was thinking of making leggings out of it and decided on a scarf instead as there is no way. EDIT: Scarf didn't work either. The yarn is too smooth. Yarn envelopes just turn into a messy mess. The last attempt will be a loosely knitted blouse. It goes well, but the knots! Each strand has at least one. When I come across one of these I have to rip the work until I can get to the seam because the yarn is too slick for normal joining methods. I like yarn but I won't buy it again. Knots are just too frustrating.
