I have found that IMPROPER FUEL DELIVERY CAN CAUSE HEAT IN THE CYLINDERS, PISTONS (AND RINGS). I've researched which injector ports are the best and these are the best, I checked the fuel pressure - it was low, both fuel pumps weren't giving the injectors the correct pressure, they were also defective due to a blockage due to incorrect impedance - I replaced the regulator (Solder and heat shrink) all ends of the injector control cables - both the pump in the tank and the pump mounted on the rail. I installed 4 out of 6 injectors. After the new "moly" rings broke, I checked the injectors with an electrical impedance meter - almost perfect! I am passing all this information along to anyone who might be considering rebuilding your engine. If a system doesn't meet specs it can cost a lot more money and time (I've built my own engines before, Harley, GMC Small and Big Blocks). disconnected with an RA disconnect, it crippled me almost as hell trying to pull it off BUT it's done right - those little but very important fuel injector connectors are "top quality" and not worth worrying about (CHECK END of connector for broken tabs securing control wire to injector).
